Guinness: The Real Irish Craic

Did you know that St. James Gate Brewery in Dublin has been the home to the Guinness Brewery since 1759 when Arthur Guinness signed the lease for 9,000 years!

The Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s number one international tourist destination and along with the Book Of Kells is an essential part of Irish history. And with that great power comes the great responsibility of accommodating all those people. Many of these tourists choose to drive to the storehouse. That means, they will be looking for a place to park. If you are one of them, then look no further because we at Parkpnp, have got all the tips and tricks to get your parking needs sorted at the Guinness Storehouse.

Proximity to Public Transportation

Dublin City has an excellent public transportation network. You can get to the storehouse, either by bus or by tram (Luas). If you choose the outstanding Dublin Bus service to get to the storehouse, then you could hop on the 13, 40 or the 123, which will take you straight to your destination. Just get off at James Gate on James Street. If you are more of a rails person, the tram service or the Luas as they call it here, will take you straight to the Guinness Storehouse. The destination to step off is James’s Luas Stop. Make sure to get on the Red Line.

Free Parking

There is limited complimentary parking available on Crane Street for guests. However, this fills up really quickly and unless you’re heading early it’s often best to sort an alternative ahead of time. Beware of spaces that might seem like parking spaces but are not. Clampers in this area are especially vigilant and won’t shy away from clamping your car.

Car Parks

Car Parks are your best option. There are three major car parks within walking distance of the Guinness Storehouse. Car park owners know the business well and made sure to offer ample spaces to park near the most popular tourist destination in Dublin. The best option would be to pre-book your parking space so you can rest assured that you will have a place to park in the car parks.

Here are the car parks near the Guinness Storehouse:

Q-Park Four Courts: This is an excellent secure car park in the hear of Dublin City just across the Liffey from the Four Courts. This car park is a short 10-minute walk away from the Storehouse. They have different parking deals like a 4-hour deal for €13, 10-hour deal for €15 and a 24-hour deal for €16 only. We suggest getting the 10-hour deal so you get time not only to enjoy the Storehouse but also some of the neighboring areas like Four Courts and the Dublin Castle.

NOTE: Same day bookings have to be made before 9 AM, so make sure to plan ahead.

St. Augustine Street Car ParkThis a very safe and secure car park with the added benefit of being underground so your car will remain untouched by the frequent Dublin showers. It is just a 10-minute walk away from the Guinness Storehouse. Parking rates here are €2 per hour and €14 per day.

NOTE: Same day bookings have to be made before 9 AM, so make sure to plan ahead.

On-Street Parking

There is limited on-street parking available in the area. However, the surrounding area would have a higher than average crime rate so make sure to leave your car somewhere safe and secure.
