A guide to parking options for events at the Convention Centre Dublin

Top Tips For Convention Centre Dublin Parking

The Convention Centre Dublin is home to a whole host of massive global & national conferences and attracts hundreds of events every year. The city centre location is ideal for many travellers. However, getting your parking sorted is a must so you can sit back and enjoy your event. Check out our top tips to make sure your parking experience goes off without a hitch.

1. Do You Need To Drive?

The Convention Centre Dublin is well serviced by a wide range of public transport options including Luas, Train & Bus. For some people travelling by car is a must but if you’re in two minds it’s worth looking at public transport options which could save you time and money. Get an idea of your best route using the handy Journey Planner for Ireland.

2. Choose Your Most Suitable Option

If driving is a necessity, you have a couple of options depending on preference. The most popular car park on event days is the Convention Centre Car Park which is located on-site and is the perfect location for any busy conference goers with 8 disability spaces available.

Another great option with a super competitive daily rate of €14.70 is Parkrite’s IFSC Car Park which is a very short walk from the venue.

There are a number of other options in the local area including National College of Ireland and Point Village but be prepared for anything from 5-10 minutes walk.

On top of the traditional car parks listed above there are a number of on-street pay and display options including Stoney Road, Forbes Street and Hibernian Road, operating from 7.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Saturday from €2.40 an hour although these can fill up quickly.

3. Pre-Book

Getting the right space can be a competitive process and if you’re particular about where you’d like to park pre-booking is advised. Many of the car parks in the area fill up very quickly for conferences and conventions.

If you want to save yourself the parking headache you can book your space in the Convention Centre Car Park. It’s worth it for the experience alone, the futuristic scanners allow you to scan in and out of the car park with your confirmation email. Ensuring the days of running around a car park looking for someone to validate your booking are over.

The Point Village & Parkrite IFSC’s car parks also have online booking facilities available.

It should be noted that for some of the bigger events the Convention Centre disable their pre-booking facility and operate solely on a first come, first serve basis.

4. Late Arrivals

If you want to chance your arm on the day all car parks in the vicinity take latecomers if they have the capacity. If you’re looking for a cash free solution you can download the Parkpnp app (iOS & Android) and simply tap in and out of the Convention Centre Dublin Car Park using your the Park Now feature. This is very handy if you want to avoid long queues at the paystation.

Remember regardless of where you park to enjoy your big day out.
